7/9/07 AirSpeed Wireless teams with Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions (CBTS) on General Electric contract! AirSpeed Wireless has joined forces with CBTS to survey, design, and implement wireless networks for GE facilities worldwide.

8/1/07 AirSpeed Wireless does a remote wireless design and configuration (3 access points) for the GE office building located in Essen, Germany. Configuration included configuring EAP and WPA security and verifying clients could authenticate.

8/20/07 AirSpeed Wireless configures 13 access points for Unison Industries – Elano Division, Dayton, OH.

9/6/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a new VLAN and SSID with proper security for Symbol wireless handheld devices that were being deployed at the GE facility located in Rutland, VT. We configured 10 access points to implement the solution in one area of the plant.

10/05/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a Statement of Work (SOW) for a cabling vendor to use for installing 30 access points augmenting wireless coverage in two GE office buildings located in Greenville, SC. AirSpeed Wireless later configured the access points and performed a post-install survey to ensure wireless coverage and network performance.

10/14/07 AirSpeed Wireless performs a Site Survey, creates a WLAN design, and implements a wireless upgrade for the GE Warehouse (Energy) located in Atlanta, GA. The Design is based on a "Hot Standby" architecture using Cisco 1242AG access points for continuous wireless network availability. The complete design consists of 18 access points.

11/7/07 AirSpeed Wireless performs a site survey and develops a design for a new AP in a conference room in Erie, PA (GE Transportation). We also developed a "remediation plan" (revised channel plan and power settings) in order to reduce extreme levels of interference present in the facility. The AP is later configured and radio enabled.

11/11/07 AirSpeed Wireless prepares a SOW for a cabling vendor to install cabling and 60 access points located in several different buildings in Belfort, France. We then configured the 60 access points with approximately 30 of those being used in "Hot Standby" mode due to the network availability requirements for the shop-floor production areas. A channel plan was developed in order to minimize interference.

11/12/07 AirSpeed Wireless designed a wireless network providing coverage for a conference room in the GE facility located in Hanover Square in Raleigh, NC.

11/15/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a remote design for a new GE office building located in Merrimack, Spain. The design consisted of 12 Cisco 1242AG access points on 6 floors. AirSpeed then configured the access points and enabled the radios. The site verified coverage was excellent in all areas requested.

11/18/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a wireless design for Albacete, Spain consisting of 2 APs in a new office facility.

11/27/07 AirSpeed Wireless performs a site survey and creates a wireless design for new wireless coverage in a GE office located in Schenecteday, NY (Bldg 59W). The design consisted of 4 access points providing coverage to conference rooms and office areas.

11/28/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a wireless design and configures 10 Cisco 1242AG APs for two Johnson Controls facilities located in Muskegon, MI. This design is for a voice over wi-fi solution using SpectraLink NetLink phones and covers outdoor emergency evacuation routes. After enabling the radios the site confirmed that coverage is excellent and that the wireless phones are working properly.

12/1/07 AirSpeed Wireless configures 2 access points and enables the radios for a GE Office building located in Ratingen, Germany.

12/4/07 AirSpeed Wireless creates a wireless VLAN and SSID for a new voice-over-Wi-Fi phone deployment at a large GE Aviation plant in Albuquerque, NM. The phones that will be used are Cisco 7921AG phones with a Call Manager solution. The plant's existing access points (approx 40) were configured with the new SSID/VLAN, security (WPA2), and Quality-of-Service (QOS) giving the voice packets priority over the data packets. AirSpeed Wireless then verified coverage and performance of the phones inside the plant and identified new AP locations needed to fill coverage holes. In addition, we did a survey of the outdoor areas, creating a wireless design consisting of access points and bridges and developed an equipment list and SOW for the cabling vendor. The outdoor design will allow users to roam seamlessly about the plant while on a phone conversation.

12/19/07 AirSpeed Wireless Networks performs site surveys and creates wireless designs for two new office areas for GE personnel located in Greenville, SC. During the implementation phase, AirSpeed Wireless configured the access points and verified coverage and performance throughout both facilities. The first location consisted of 6 access points serving approx 150 people on one floor and the second location consisted of 8 access points serving approx 200 people on two floors.

12/21/07 AirSpeed Wireles creates and implements a wireless design consisting of 9 access points for a new office area for approx 200 users at a GE facility located in Lynn, MA (Bldg 40-2). A post-install survey was conducted to ensure proper coverage and minimize levels of interference.

12/27/07 AirSpeed Wireless performs a site survey, creates a WLAN design, and implements a wireless network for GE Aviation (Joint Strike Fighter engine test cells) located at the GE Aviation plant in Evendale, OH. The design consisted of 5 access points.

1/14/08 AirSpeed Wireless creates a design, taking into account existing wireless networks, and implements one access point for an office area located in the GE facility in Houston, TX (Jacintoport).

1/22/08 AirSpeed Wireless performs a survey and creates a design for a GE Warehouse and office facility located in Kansas City, MO. The warehouse consists of 76000 sq ft and the office space consists of 10000 sq ft.

1/23/08 AirSpeed Wireless conducts site surveys at two GE Rail yards located in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, MO. The goal of the surveys is to completely upgrade the wireless networks at both facilities. The scope of the project includes replacing obsolete access points and bridges, measuring coverage areas, performing outdoor surveys using GPS and identifying all equipment requirements (antennas, cables, access points, bridges).

1/23/08-4/2/08 Airspeed Wireless creates wireless designs that consisted of 25 access points in 7 buildings at the GE Aviation facility located in Lynn, MA. The buildings consisted of shopfloor areas (production), office buildings, and a conference center. Airspeed Wireless then configured all of the APs, enabled the radios, and verified full coverage existed.

3/11/08 AirSpeed Wireless adds one new AP to the GE Rail facility located in Grove City, PA. The access point was added to an area with existing wireless so the channel plan was reviewed and revised at the time of the new installation.

4/2/08 AirSpeed Wireless creates a wireless design for new GE offices located in Milano, Italy. Approximately 150 GE personnel are relocating to a new office building and will occupy the 3rd floor which encompasses approx 75,000 square feet. The 3rd floor has an auditorium and numerous conference rooms that require wireless coverage. AirSpeed wireless also developed a scope of work (SOW) for the local cabling vendor who will run the cables and install the APs. AirSpeed will be managing the local vendor remotely to ensure the WLAN will meet GE specifications.

4/8/08 AirSpeed Wireless is selected to provide wireless coverage for the upcoming General Electric Shareholders Meeting to be held at an undisclosed location. AirSpeed Wireless configured four APs and verified they were authenticating with the Corporate ACS servers. The APs were installed, configured, and tested more than two weeks in advance of the conference.

4/12/08 AirSpeed Wireless performs a site survey for Dayton Unison (Plant #7). The plant does not have existing wireless coverage. After the survey is completed a wireless network design is created and the APs preconfigured. On 4/12/08 two new switches are installed and three APs are fully configured and turned up. Wireless coverage and connectivity are confirmed by the customer.

4/9/08 AirSpeed Wireless conducts a site survey for new GE Energy offices located on the 14th floor of 1233 West Loop, Houston, TX. The floor is approximately 20, 000 square feet. In addition, AirSpeed created a WLAN design and developed a bill of materials for the wireless equipment required.

4/15/08 AirSpeed Wireless configured two APs and added a new SSID/VLAN for wireless handheld devices for the GE Aviation facility located in Rutland, VT. The two new APs will provide coverage to a new addition built onto Plant #2.

6/19/08 Airspeed Wireless conducted site surveys and provided wireless designs for four (4) GE manufacturing facilities in located throughout Missouri. The designs consisted of Cisco 4400-series controllers and Cisco 1242AG lightweight access points.

6/25/08 Performed wireless survey and design at the Crowne Point office building in Cincinnati, OH. This floor space is approx 25,000 sq ft and will provide office space for GE Aviation (formerly Smiths Aerospace). The wireless network was completed and in-place prior to the arrival of Smith Aerospace personnel who were relocating to Cincinnati, OH. The wireless network consisted of 6 Cisco 1242AGs.

6/26/08 Airspeed Wireless is selected to upgrade GE wireless security worldwide. This project involves upgrading over 4000+ wireless access points from LEAP to PEAP. This will result in clients using two factor login (Single Sign On and Secure ID token) when complete. This effort is in response to an audit by the Dept of Defense. To date, approximately 2000 access points have been upgraded without a single outage in service.

7/16/08 Added a GUEST Wireless VLAN to 20 APs located in a GE office building in Cincinnati, OH. This was completed prior to the arrival guests from all over GE arriving for a conference and requiring internet access.

7/17/08 Prior to widespread implementation of PEAP throughout GE, 'Pilot' sites were identified and configured as 'proof of concept' sites. This included configuring the APs, switches, ACS servers, and wireless client devices at these sites. The 'Pilot' sites included Cincinnati, Atlanta, Florence Italy, and Erie PA.

8/13/08 Airspeed Wireless attends formal training and becomes an Air Defense Certified Engineer. This is in preparation for widespread deployment of a wireless intrusion detection /prevention system throughout GE facilities.

10/11/08 Airspeed Wireless configures 8 Access Points for Hot Standby Configuration at a GE Energy parts warehouse in the Netherlands as part of a LAN/WLAN upgrade. The APs were configured and tested prior to the cutover of the new network.

11/20/08 In order to prepare for the wireless security upgrade, Airspeed Wireless created wireless VLANs for the GE plants located in Lynn, MA and Grove City, PA.

12/2/08-12/5/08 Airspeed Wireless attends Cisco Wireless Controller training. This is in preparation for deploying wireless controllers for larger installations throughout GE.
